The 2019 Magnanimous Mug

Proposals are now being gathered for the Magnanimous Mug Award.  Throw your name into the hat by applying at fortgeorgebrewery.com/magnanimousmug.

To keep the event focused, Fort George will select about a dozen participants from those that apply. We’ll notify all applicants about eligibility by November 8th, then start raising your funds (cash & checks) and join us on the last Tuesday of the month.

Astoria, Oregon – November is a magnanimous time of year. The changing colors of the season light the Columbia River in an amazing display. Fort George releases their piney fall seasonal, Magnanimous IPA, brewed with hand-harvested Grand Fir tips from Earth & Sky Farm. And it’s also when the North Coast comes together to choose the noble recipient of the Magnanimous Mug.

Each year in November, benevolent members of the community vie for this coveted award. The rules are simple: select a local nonprofit, raise funds for that nonprofit, then join Fort George for the Magnanimous Mug Award on Tuesday, November 27th. More donations are gathered at the event, tallies are taken, awards are handed out, and all of the funds raised go directly to those charities that night. Last year over $96,000 was raised. This year, with your help, that number will only grow.

Once again, Fort George will generously add donations to the charities of the top three fundraisers – matching up to $10,000 for first place, up to $5,000 for second place, and up to $1000 for third. And of course, the most ambitious fundraiser of them all will hoist the Magnanimous Mug for all of 2019. This entitles the holder to all of the benefits of a Fort George Mug Club member. And you get a custom mug, too.

The Magnanimous Mug will be awarded at Benefit Night on Tuesday, November 27th. The festivities will run from 6pm to 8pm, with our special host Norma Hernandez on the microphone. Join all of the participants, and the representatives of their charities, as the winners are announced at 8pm.

Fort George Benefit Night is hosted on the last Tuesday of every month. Come raise a pint & raise funds for valuable local nonprofits.
