Forests. Wetlands. Tidal waters. These are the lungs of the planet. Here on the Oregon Coast, our environment has some of the greatest capacity in the world to draw down CO2 and sequester carbon, thus naturally combating climate change. Join North Coast Land Conservancy Executive Director Katie Voelke and Marine Program Manager Angela Whitlock for a discussion about how “Conservation is Climate Action.” Learn how preserving ecologically rich areas on land and at sea is a way for us to collectively address climate change and strengthen resiliency on the coast—along with contributing to global efforts. Through conservation initiatives that preserve natural corridors and habitat connectivity for plants and wildlife; supporting biodiversity; and contributing to fresh air and water, we can all take action in a tangible and meaningful way.
