TNT: Restoring Pusterla

Celebrate the Astoria Column’s 100th anniversary—and the artistry and ingenuity behind its amazing murals—with a behind-the-scenes look at their preservation. The Clatsop County Historical Society invites the community to “Restoring Pusterla,” presented by restoration lead John Goodenberger.

Goodenberger, on-site manager for the 2015 Astoria Column restoration, will share how conservators protected and recreated sections of Attilio Pusterla’s artwork after decades of wind, rain, and salt air—helping ensure future generations can continue to experience this landmark as it was meant to be seen.

Be part of the Astoria Column centennial celebration at Fort George Brewery’s Lovell Showroom (14th & Duane, Astoria) on May 21, 2026. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the talk beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Doors open at 6pm with food and beverages available via the Taproom window, talk starts at 7pm. All ages welcome and never a cover.
