Introducing Beer Tree Fest

Inaugural Beer Tree Fest – A Fort George Winter Beer Festival

Winter is the season of the tree. Reverence for trees predates recorded history. Ancient Romans decorated trees. Vikings worshipped trees. A tree bridges the space between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Humans were made from trees.

Here at Fort George, trees do a lot for us – from the oak of our barrels to the spruce tips in Spruce Budd to the huge, old-growth pine beams that support the roof of our historic building in Astoria, we owe a lot to the trees. We celebrated trees and all they do for us (and our beer) at our first Beer Tree Fest in December 2025 at Fort George Brewery & Public House.

It’s a Fort George Winter Beer Festival with tree beer, food and drink specials, hot chocolate, adoptable pets from the Clatsop County Animal Shelter, live seasonal music, pictures with Santa, a bake sale and silent auction benefitting Clatsop Animal Assistance, tree vendors, wreath-making, Christmas trees for sale and tree beers on tap.

At our first Beer Tree Fest, we featured tree beers from some of our favorite tree beer brewers: Threshold Brewing, pFriem Family Brewers, Wayfinder Beer, Block 15 Brewing Co, Bizarre Brewing, Holy Mountain, and more.

Beer Tree Fest returns on December 5th, 2026. More info here.

Astoria is a magical place with more bookstores, arcades, ice cream shops, breweries, historic theaters and bridges than make logical sense based on the population size. We have a 100 year old column on top of a hill that serves no practical purpose except to delight people. We have many mysterious hidden pathways and a…

Fort employees regularly volunteer for local nonprofits and they…
