This brewer’s series is an opportunity for a Fort George employee (or owner) to develop a recipe, brew that beer, name that beer, and release it to the local beer drinking community. And the series has become so popular that the brewers have decided to do it twice a month in the summer.
As the beer whistle blows on first & third Fridays, a unique small batch beer will be available in the Lovell Taproom. Meet the brewer at a tapping & tasting at 5pm, sip a sample, and pick their brewer brain if you like.
Brewer for July 20th: Andy Townsend
Beer: Colony Collapse
This beer evokes memories of the hot, humid summer evenings of the Midwest, sitting in the bed of a pickup, watching the fireflies dance in the twilight over an endless sea of rolling fields. Honey was added to this American Wheat Ale at 180 degrees and again before transfer to the fermenter. Steeped with lavender and elderflower after the boil, to attract even more bees.
