Brewed in Collaboration with 16 Tons out of Eugene, Oregon. We first brewed a hazy IPA called Space Fog, to celebrate the Eugene taproom’s anniversary. That same recipe was brewed and fermented in French oak barrels with a mixed culture of Saison yeast, wild saccharomyces, brettanomyces, and lactobacillus, to create this expressive, complex, and hoppy Saison. After extended aging in the barrel, we dry-hopped just like we would for a hazy IPA before bottle conditioning. The result is a dry, fruity, rustic, and delicious collaboration beer to once again celebrate one of our favorite bottle shops in Eugene.
Brewer's Notes
Brewed by Dave Coyne, this small batch of Sweet Virginia Bottles is only available at the brewery and at 16 Tons in Eugene, Oregon. Pale gold in color, dried apricot, citrus zest, clove, and bread crust aromas lend to Saison “spice” and notes of dried stone fruit, citrus, and tropical fruit.
